Terms of Use

1. Who we are and what these Terms cover
SouqSpot (www.souqspot.ae, the SouqSpot iOS and Android applications, and every service offered through them — together "the Platform") is a United Arab Emirates classifieds marketplace operated from Al Ain, Emirate of Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates ("SouqSpot", "we", "us"). These Terms of Use, together with the annexes at the end of this document, the Privacy Policy, the Acceptable Use Policy, the Prohibited Items list and the Cookie Policy (together "the Terms"), form a binding agreement between you and SouqSpot.
By browsing the Platform, creating an account, posting a listing or contacting another member you accept these Terms. If you do not accept them, do not use the Platform.
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old and legally capable of entering into contracts under UAE law. By using the Platform you confirm that you meet both conditions. Accounts registered with false identity information may be suspended without notice.
3. SouqSpot is a venue
The Platform connects buyers and sellers. SouqSpot is not a party to, and does not broker, any transaction between members. We do not own, inspect, warrant or guarantee any item, property, vehicle or service advertised, and we do not hold funds, provide escrow or act as a payment intermediary between members. Verification badges confirm that specific documents were reviewed at a specific time; they are not a guarantee of any person, item or transaction.
4. Accounts
You are responsible for your account, for keeping your password secure and for everything done through your session. One person, one account; businesses may hold one business account per licensed entity. You must provide accurate registration details and keep them current. You can delete your account at any time from the Account page or www.souqspot.ae/delete-account; deletion takes down your listings immediately, signs you out of all devices and anonymizes your personal data within 30 days, subject only to records UAE law requires us to keep.
5. Listings
When you post a listing you warrant that: (a) you own the item or are lawfully permitted to sell or advertise it; (b) the listing describes the actual item accurately, including its condition and any defects; (c) the price is the genuine asking price in UAE Dirhams; (d) the listing is placed in the correct category with photographs of the actual item; and (e) the listing complies with the category annexes below and with all applicable UAE federal and emirate-level laws, including permit requirements. One item per listing; duplicates are removed. We may edit listing formatting, re-categorise, decline or remove listings that break these rules.
6. Paid services
Featured placements, bumps, spotlights, credits and subscription packages are digital services that begin delivery immediately upon activation and are non-refundable once consumed, except where a paid feature failed due to a Platform fault, where content was removed through our own error, or where mandatory UAE consumer protection law provides otherwise (Federal Law 15/2020 and Cabinet Decision 66/2023). Paid visibility does not guarantee responses, leads or sale, and paid listings remain subject to moderation and these Terms without refund where removed for breach.
7. Content and licence
You retain ownership of the text and photographs you post. You grant SouqSpot a worldwide, royalty-free licence to host, display, reproduce, adapt and promote that content on the Platform and in SouqSpot marketing of the Platform for as long as the content remains on the Platform. You confirm you hold the rights needed to grant this licence. Rights holders may report infringing content through the in-listing Report button or legal@souqspot.ae.
8. Restrictions
You must not: scrape, crawl, harvest or bulk-download Platform content or member data; reverse-engineer, decompile or probe the Platform's security; automate account creation, posting or messaging; impersonate any person or entity; misuse member contact details for unsolicited marketing; bypass rate limits, moderation or suspension measures; or use the Platform to divert payments to untraceable channels. The Acceptable Use Policy sets out the full conduct rules and the enforcement ladder.
9. Moderation and enforcement
We may review, decline, edit or remove content, restrict features, and suspend or terminate accounts to enforce these Terms, comply with the law or protect members. Safety-critical reports are targeted for action within 24 hours. Enforcement follows a proportionate ladder (correction request, removal, feature restriction, suspension, permanent ban) except for severe breaches, which may result in immediate permanent removal and, where UAE law requires, reporting to the competent authorities under Federal Decree-Law 34/2021 on Combating Rumours and Cybercrimes. You may appeal moderation decisions from your dashboard or via support@souqspot.ae.
10. Disclaimers
The Platform is provided "as is" and "as available". To the maximum extent permitted by UAE law we disclaim all implied warranties, and we make no warranty that the Platform will be uninterrupted, error-free or free of harmful components, or that any listing is accurate, lawful or safe. You deal with other members at your own risk; follow the Safety Guidelines: meet in public, inspect before paying, never pay deposits before viewing, and keep payments traceable.
11. Indemnity
You will indemnify and hold SouqSpot, its owners, employees and agents harmless from any claim, damage, penalty or expense (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your listings, your conduct on the Platform, your transactions with other members, or your breach of these Terms or of applicable law.
12. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by UAE law, SouqSpot's total aggregate liability to you for all claims arising out of or in connection with the Platform in any 12-month period is limited to the higher of: (a) the total fees you paid to SouqSpot for Platform services in that period; or (b) AED 1,000. We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, loss of profit, loss of data or loss of opportunity, nor for the acts or omissions of members.
13. Governing law and jurisdiction
These Terms and any dispute arising from them are governed by the federal laws of the United Arab Emirates as applied onshore. The courts of the Emirate of Abu Dhabi, including the Al Ain circuit, have exclusive jurisdiction. Use of the Platform from outside the UAE is at your own initiative and risk.
14. Changes, severability, assignment
We may amend these Terms; material changes are announced on the Platform and carry a new effective date, and continued use after the effective date — or your express re-acceptance where we require it — constitutes acceptance. If any clause is held invalid, the remainder stays in force. You may not assign your rights under these Terms; we may assign ours to a successor operator of the Platform. These Terms, the documents referenced in Section 1 and the annexes below are the entire agreement.

Annex A — Additional Terms: Property
1. Advertising permits are mandatory where the emirate requires them and the permit number must be entered in the listing: Trakheesi permit number for Dubai properties (Dubai Law 7/2013 and RERA regulations; penalties for unpermitted advertising start at AED 50,000 and can reach licence cancellation); Madhmoun advertisement number via DARI for Abu Dhabi mainland properties (mandatory since July 2025); AccessRP reference for ADGM areas including Al Reem Island. 2. Only owners, or brokers and agencies licensed for the relevant emirate, may advertise a property. Broker listings must state the advertiser's ORN/BRN or equivalent licence number, which must remain valid for the life of the listing. 3. Off-plan listings must state the developer, the project, the expected handover date and the escrow account details where applicable, and may be published only with the approvals the emirate requires. 4. Listings must reflect the actual unit (or accurately represent the type for multi-unit projects), state the true price or rent, and be removed promptly once the unit is no longer available. Rental listings must respect Ejari/tawtheeq registration obligations where applicable. 5. Property advertising on the Platform is bilingual by design; misleading advertising is prohibited under Federal Law 15/2020 and emirate regulations.
Annex B — Additional Terms: Motors
1. You warrant that any vehicle you advertise is owned by you or that you are authorised to sell it, that it is not stolen, and that any mortgage, loan or encumbrance is disclosed in the listing. 2. Specifications must be accurate: year, mileage, regional specification, accident history and service history. Odometer tampering, VIN alteration and concealing salvage or total-loss history are prohibited and are reported to the competent authorities. 3. The registration card (mulkiya) must be available for inspection on request, and ownership transfer must follow the emirate traffic-authority process. 4. Export listings must state clearly that the vehicle is offered for export, and the exporter is responsible for customs and destination-country compliance. 5. Inspection badges reflect a point-in-time check by a SouqSpot-appointed inspector and are not a warranty of condition.
Annex C — Additional Terms: Jobs
1. Charging jobseekers fees for recruitment, applications, visas or "registration" is prohibited, consistent with MOHRE rules. Employer and agency accounts that solicit payment from candidates are permanently removed. 2. Job advertisements may be posted only by the hiring entity or a licensed recruitment agency, must name that entity, and must describe a genuine vacancy. 3. Discriminatory requirements unrelated to occupational need are prohibited. 4. CVs and candidate data received through the Platform may be used only for the advertised recruitment purpose and must be handled in line with the PDPL; onward sale or transfer of candidate data is prohibited.
Annex D — Additional Terms: Verified Business accounts
1. Business, dealer, broker and agency verification requires a valid UAE trade licence matching the account identity, plus the additional documents the category requires. We may verify documents with issuing authorities. 2. The verified badge remains valid only while the underlying licence is valid; expired or revoked licences suspend the badge and posting rights until renewed evidence is provided. 3. Using another entity's documents, or misrepresenting an unlicensed activity as licensed, is fraud: the account is permanently removed and the matter may be reported to the competent authorities. 4. Verified accounts are responsible for the conduct of every team member using the account.
