This list is enforced by AI screening plus human moderation and is updated as UAE law and platform policy evolve. Attempting to disguise a prohibited item is a severe breach handled under the Acceptable Use Policy. Where an item requires a licence or permit, "without licence" means it is prohibited unless the seller holds and, on request, evidences the licence.
Weapons and dangerous goods
Firearms, ammunition, explosives and components; tasers, pepper spray and disguised weapons; switchblades and banned knives; fireworks; hazardous chemicals and poisons; radioactive material.
Drugs and medical
Illegal drugs and paraphernalia; prescription medicines; controlled substances; unlicensed supplements and slimming products; medical devices requiring authorisation; human organs, tissues and bodily fluids.
Animals
Live-animal sales of any kind (UAE animal-welfare law and platform policy). Permitted instead: pet accessories and supplies, pet food, adoption listings at no charge, and licensed pet services. Wildlife, endangered species, ivory and wildlife products are prohibited absolutely.
Regulated and licensed goods
Alcohol without licence; tobacco, vapes and e-cigarettes without licence; gambling, lotteries and raffle tickets; currency, banknotes and coins beyond collectible numismatics; gift cards and store credit resale; SIM cards registered to third parties; government documents, uniforms, plates and IDs; police, military and emergency-service equipment.
Dishonest and infringing
Counterfeit and replica goods; stolen property; recalled products; odometer-adjustment and diagnostics-defeat devices; surveillance and interception equipment marketed for spying; hacking tools and stolen-account credentials; forged certificates and documents; academic-fraud services.
Content and services
Adult content and services; escort and massage services of a sexual nature; matchmaking for prohibited relationships; financial schemes (pyramid, Ponzi, "investment doubling"), unlicensed financial, visa or immigration services; charging jobseekers for employment (MOHRE rule); begging and donation solicitation outside licensed charities.
Category-specific reminders
Vehicles: no salvage concealment, no odometer tampering, disclose encumbrances. Property: advertising permits are mandatory where the emirate requires them (Trakheesi / Madhmoun via DARI / AccessRP). Jobs: employer or licensed agency only. Electronics: no carrier-locked stolen devices; IMEI-blacklisted devices are prohibited.
Report suspected prohibited items with the Report button on the listing; safety-critical reports are targeted for action within 24 hours.
