Acceptable Use
Version 2 · Effective 08/07/2026
1. Scope
This Acceptable Use Policy applies to everyone who accesses SouqSpot — visitors, registered members, business accounts and their team members — across the website, the mobile applications and every communication channel the Platform provides, including chat. It works together with the Terms of Use, the Prohibited Items list and the Privacy Policy. Where this policy is stricter than a category rule, this policy prevails.
2. Prohibited uses
You must not use the Platform to: break UAE law or help others break it; advertise items or services on the Prohibited Items list; commit or attempt fraud, including fake listings, bait pricing, advance-fee schemes, deposit scams and phishing; move counterparties to untraceable payment channels (wire-transfer-only, crypto-only, gift cards, "reservation deposits" before viewing); harvest, scrape or resell member data or content; run unauthorised automation, bots or bulk messaging; probe, overload or bypass security controls, rate limits, moderation or bans (including ban evasion through new accounts); impersonate people, brands or authorities; or interfere with other members' lawful use of the Platform.
3. Content standards
Everything you publish — listings, photos, chat, reviews, profile content — must be: accurate and not misleading; yours to publish (no stolen photos or copied listings); placed in the correct category; free of hate speech, harassment, threats, discrimination and sexual content; free of spam, chain content and irrelevant promotion; and compliant with UAE content standards under Federal Decree-Law 34/2021. Chat is for transacting on the listing at hand; unsolicited marketing through chat is prohibited. Reviews must reflect genuine first-hand experience; buying, trading or coercing reviews is prohibited.
4. Prohibited items
The maintained Prohibited Items list is part of this policy. Attempting to disguise a prohibited item (code words, misleading photos, category misuse) is treated as a severe breach. Where a category requires permits or licences (property advertising permits, broker ids, recruitment licences, dealer licences), advertising without them is prohibited.
5. Enforcement
Enforcement is proportionate and escalates: correction request or warning; content removal; feature restriction (posting, chat or contact reveal); temporary suspension; permanent ban with device and payment blocking. Severe breaches — fraud, prohibited items, safety threats, ban evasion, document forgery — skip the ladder and result in immediate permanent removal. Where UAE law requires, matters are reported to the competent authorities with the evidence the law obliges us to preserve. Appeals: from your dashboard or support@souqspot.ae; safety-critical reports from other members are targeted for action within 24 hours.
